The Chinese practice of Qigong helps the body to manage the flow of qi throughout the body. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners, qi is an energy that permeates all things, including ourselves. If this energy is balanced, then we are healthier, happier and better able to deal with the stresses of daily life. There are several techniques that the Chinese traditionally employ to balance their qi: these include acupuncture, acupressure and qigong.
Qigong is a TCM exercise that uses slow movements and breathing exercises to mange the way the body’s qi flows.
People practice qigong in order to get in touch with nature and the Tao, to gain strength, or to become healers.
Because the best way to learn is through seeing, we have included below two videos of Standing Qigong, which is a form of qigong that is considered to be extremely powerful.
